The Givat Haviva staff guide students on regional field trips to show them the cultural and social issues that affect the diverse population of Israel. Some of our past trips have included visits to Akko (Acre), Caesarea, Druze Villages, and Christian Arabs in Nazareth. For first-time visitors to Israel, there’s the option for participating in longer trips all over Israel which explore larger historical and social issues.
On a weekly basis, students in the Arabic language track receive hands-on experience in a nearby Arab village in the Wadi Ara region, supported by a local host family. Students practice Arabic with an Arab Israeli host family, allowing them to forge close, personal ties within the Arab community and get a chance to take part in their daily life. The language exchange will also include teaching members of your host family English, creating a balanced reciprocal relationship where everyone contributes to teaching and learning.
Students in the Hebrew language track visit with the nearby Ein-Shemer and enjoy home hospitality with local Jewish Israelis.
